We are collaborating with partners in the film industry to develop software and services that will radically change film production.
Currently it is next to impossible to envisage before filming exactly what shots are required to capture the vision of the directors and others
(screenwriters, DPs, set designers, costumer designers, editors, actors, etc.) whose creativity drives the finished product. This means that ideas have to
be developed during filming when expenses are at their highest due to the costs of locations, sets, actors, crew and support. Also many takes are required
to cover different possibilities, the vast majority of which are left on the cutting room floor.
The service we are developing uses tools that allow those with creative input to collaborate on defining scenes and the exact shots that are required.
Scenes can be easily and exactly visualised as 3D animations which can be rapidly changed to incorporate new ideas. Experimenting with different takes or
action takes a matter of minutes. Apart from the cost of the service itself, the only cost is the time that a small group of people spend on this
experimentation, allowing producers to dedicate resources to getting it just right and then make dramatic savings in the production costs.
The service guides the creative team through the process of developing the whole film. The final animations and the captured comments of the pre-production
team provide a set of blueprints from which the filming can be carried out quickly and economically.
From major Hollywood films through adverts and music videos to online and mobile videos, all film and video productions can benefit from this service and
